There are three types of drill pipe: Kell, drill pipe, and Heavy Weight Drill Pipe. The connection sequence is kelly (one piece) + drill pipe (n piece, determined by the depth of the well) + heavy weight drill pipe (n, determined by the design of the drill tool assembly).
